Upcoming Plots Discussion
Hey there, Legionnaires!
Periodically, we like to check in with the playerbase to figure out what the upcoming plots are going to be and see if we need to rearrange the plots, add a new one to the calendar, or make any changes based on what the playerbase wants.
RECENT PLOTS
Recently, we had "Books of Magic" and "Out With the Old" which are setting up for more proactive plots to deal with the Legion's problems in the near future. The next few months of plots at the game will allow certain major issues/enemies to be resolved once and for all.
UPCOMING PLOTS
The last state of the plot post lists some upcoming plots and their full descriptions here here. We'd like to add some plots onto the end of the list, and a new one for April.
Through the Looking Glass: After being dispatched to deal with an attack by the Queen of Fables, the Legionnaires must go on a quest through the many fictional stories she's brought to life, to stop her before she takes over Earth and the rest of the galaxy. The Spy Who Sprocked Us: Set during the same time as "Through the Looking Glass." After the Legion's Espionage Division is re-formed, several Legionnaire good at black ops work and hacking are sent to track down the UP Councilmember or members that have been betraying the UP and the Legion to Chronoblivion, to bring them to justice once and for all, and find out more about the Big C. Media Hijinks: Possible Legion Watch, some Legionnaire Legacies. To Have and To Hold: A recently added UP member world, Olum, has several sources of mystical energy that can be used to block Chronoblivion's spying on Legion World and attack the Herald doing it. However, these energy sources lie in a sacred area only accessible through a single access point -- and people are only allowed through after a marriage ritual. Asking special permission for access, or for the objects to be handed over by the Olumites has led to their refusal, leading to the Legion sending a team of holo-disguised Legionnaires to get fake-married. If the Legionnaires don't complete the sacred journey, the marriages are automatically nullified, anyway, allowing the fake couples to simply take the objects and leave. Those Legionnaires that are romantically-inclined might enjoy the experience, as the rituals involved are meant to celebrate their love, challenge the strength of their relationship, and bring them closer together. Others may find the experience awkward, as they have to fake it until they make it with teammates they're not romantically entangled with. The Other Mother: Set during "To Have and To Hold." A secret door appears on Legion World that only younger characters (mostly teens) can see. In it is a strange woman that tells the teen characters she's their Other Mother, and she lives in a fantastical place that makes all their dreams come true. However, she wants the kids to stay with her forever, and the more they say no, the more violent she becomes. She starts to attack the adult characters and staff through the exits from her lair that exist in the vents, and because they're psionically influenced to ignore and forget her, they're helpless against her attacks. It's up to the kids to go into the Other Mother's world and stop her once and for all, to save the adults and save themselves from a gruesome fate. Gods Among Us: Set during "To Have and To Hold." When four otherdimensional time travelers start meddling with history, the Legion's timeline starts to fall apart. In a last ditch attempt to save the present, Brainiac 5 sends several Legionnaires into the past, so they can thwart the time travelers in their attempts to destroy the future. The Legionnaires will have to protect four of the greatest heroes of the 21st century -- Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, and Green Lantern -- to keep them from being killed before they're ever superheroes. In the process of saving the past, the Legionnaires will find themselves in a dystopian version of the 21st century, where Superman is an insane dictator that rules over the Earth, and will have to outsmart his regime to get access to the time travel device that will let them fix everything and stop the four meddling time travelers once and for all. Media Hijinks: IC Anon Meme, Possible Legion Watch, some Legionnaire Legacies. Resistance is Futile: A threat connected to the Brainiac line rises up and starts spreading a techno-organic nano-virus that converts organic life to mindless zombie robots that are part of a collective completely dedicated to consuming and converting every organic in the UP. The only beings immune to the nano-virus are the Roboticans, due to their An Eye For An Eye: Set during "Resistance is Futile." While the rest of the UP is reeling from techno-zombie infection, the Spectre attacks Takron Galtos, the UP's highest security prison, and starts killing inmates -- some of which are villains and criminals the Legionnaires themselves have put in jail. The Legionnaires that respond will have to decide where they stand on protecting the lives of the Spectre's villainous victims, and will have to figure out who among them can wield the Spear of Destiny against the Spectre. And those that have shed innocent blood themselves may find themselves in the Spectre's crosshairs. |
PLAYER PLOTS
As usual, player plots can be run during any of these other plots. If you'd like help making up a player plot up or would like to incorporate threads of the mod plot into things (such as characters finding traitors to the UP working for Chronoblivion) contact the mods and we'll help you out.
You can also adopt a plot idea off of the Plot In a Can post and run it.
FEEDBACK
Please answer these questions for the mods.
1) Are you okay with the addition of "Gods Among Us" to April?
2) Do you want any of the upcoming plots changed or rearranged?
3) If these plots aren't to your liking, would you like something else? If you'd like something else, what kind of plot are you hoping for in terms of genre or focus? For instance: adventure, diplomacy, horror, some kind of disaster response, or anything else you can think of.
Please let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and feel free to ask any questions. When we're sure of a gameplan, we'll update the game calendar and do a new State of the Plot post.
