ENDGAME PART 2 [infopost/sign ups]

ENDGAME PART 2

SUMMARY

Armed with the Miracle Machine, and facing a universe that's starting to break down at the seams, the Legion must venture through Chronoblivion's outer shells - made up of the fragments of dead universes - to allow the Miracle Machine access to the dimensional space the Big C's core self exists in. Only when they're technically in the right reality can the device alter the reality in it to defeat him.

But Chronoblivion's shell is a dangerous place. Many of the individuals that have tried to look into its depths have gone mad, and every brave fool that's wandered in has never come out, nor have they broken through to the other side.

The only chance the Legion has of breaking through the shell - and also breaking it down enough to get a crack at the gooey center - is if they rely on each other on the journey through. Because if they get stuck there, the twisted pocket dimensions within will grind them away until they cease to exist.

LOGS

LOG THREAD 1

BASICS

This part of the plot will be highly personalized and individualized. Each scenario will be set up and npced by players for their characters and their CR. These scenarios can be literally anything. Maybe the characters are attacked by their greatest fears, or trapped in their very worst memories, or are attacked again by past enemies in the game that genuinely terrified or harmed them. Or perhaps these dimensions throw something entirely unknown and creepy at them and force them to work together to survive. Maybe the characters are tricked into thinking they're back in their home canon and have to be convinced that the events over the course of the game happened at all.

In any case, the characters must survive and escape these scenarios before Chronoblivion is able to "digest" them and erase them from existence.

This is meant to be a space where players can personalize miniplots to play out resolutions to their characters' arcs, bending reality around them however they see fit to allow that to happen.

SCENARIO MECHANICS

While everything that happens within the shell is physical and "real," it's a manufactured reality that won't affect the outside universe or other characters. For instance, if the Joker shows up again in a characters' scenario, he will be real and able to kill them, but it won't be the same captured Joker imprisoned on Takron-Galtos. Or if a player wants their character to watch all their characters' friends die, the friends will just be manufactured and not the actual PCs.

To facilitate players being able to play many different scenarios at once, upon entering Chronoblivion's outer shell, characters will find themselves "splitting," like light through a prism, into many different alternate selves, all experiencing different scenarios simultaneously without realizing they've been split. This will allow players to play out as many scenarios with their CR as they like, without having to worry about the timing of any of them.

A character can only break through and survive if all of their various selves defeat the scenarios they're in, and only then will the character pop through to the other side and reform into one individual that will holds the combined memories of all the different scenarios.

As far as threats go, players can have scenarios that combine characters' conflicts to be defeated at the same time, or if they want to run entirely different scenarios with the same characters they can do that. They can also have as many characters as they want in one scenario.

In short, go ahead and get messy! Reality in Chronoblivion's shell is a twisted place that can potentially cause multiple iterations of the characters to face multiple nightmarish plot scenarios together. And whether you want them to face past threats, bad memories, entirely new situations, or even a faked scenario where they're tricked into thinking they never left home, it's all up to you!

WORKSHOPPING

The first people we recommend players speaking to regarding coming up with scenarios is their CR, as you'll have to decide what you want your characters to face together. But if you've spoken to your CR and are short on ideas, there will be a mod thread below, where the mods are willing to work with players and toss them plot ideas to potentially build their scenarios around.

SIGN UPS

We would like all players to sign up just to have a head count and so others know who's open for plotting, but this section of the plot has no time limit on sign ups. Players can sign up and take part at any point during endgame and backtag to their heart's content.

OPT OUTS

As this attack is galaxy-wide and it's for endgame, players can no longer opt out. That said, if they would prefer to focus oocly on part 1 and/or part 3 of the overall endgame plot, they can simply handwave any participation in endgame parts they don't want to focus on.

While this part of the plot technically takes place after Part 1 chronologically, players can opt to oocly focus on this part and handwave involvement in part 1 if they like.

PLOT START

Plot will go up: 1/10/18
