THE OTHER MOTHER [modplot/signups/infopost]

A secret door appears on Legion World that only younger characters (mostly teens) can see. In it is a strange woman that tells the teen characters she's their Other Mother, and she lives in a fantastical place that makes all their dreams come true. However, she wants the kids to stay with her forever, and the more they say no, the more violent she becomes. She starts to attack the adult characters and staff through the exits from her lair that exist in the vents, and because they're psionically influenced to ignore and forget her, they're helpless against her attacks. It's up to the kids to go into the Other Mother's world and stop her once and for all, to save the adults and save themselves from a gruesome fate.
SETTING
The day after the drunken teen party, a magical door will appear in a wall in Dipper's room that only some of the teens can see. Anytime adults or teenagers that are too old (or just mentally not able to be influenced) are shown the door, it will disappear.
Through the door is a long tunnel, and on the other end of that tunnel is...
THE OTHER MOTHER'S REALM
The Other Mother's realm is a strange alternate form of Legion World. Everything there is bright and colorful, and the different halls and tunnels of the ship look like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.
Different areas of this twisted landscape will be like the Habitat Deck, where each teen participating in the plot has their own little habitat. These areas will start out strange, but idyllic and beautiful, and then turn into something from their nightmares as the plot progresses. Players that sign up will have to provide a short writeup about their character's area in the comments below, noting what it will look like to start with, and what it will look like in nightmare mode.
The Other Mother will try to convince the teens that she'll be a good mother to them, and that they should sew buttons into their eyes and stay with her in paradise forever, safe from Chronoblivion and all the scary things they've faced. However, if they actually agree to this, she'll kill them and trap their souls.
If the characters deny her, she'll start causing problems around the ship, taking advantage of the fact adults can't perceive her, and hurting Legionnaire npcs and staff in surprise attacks they can't defend from. She may even resort to kidnapping some of the adult PC Legionnaires (if any players volunteer).
To defeat her, the teens will have a variety of options to stop her and may decide their own preferred tactic. They will have no powers in the Other Mother's realm, but can potentially use the Book of Magic from the Wizard to find a ritual to stop her, use scientific or ghost-hunting equipment to hurt her, or must challenge her to some kind of game or challenge and perform it within the time limit.
PERCEPTION
The teens involved will be able to perceive the Other Mother and travel to her realm through the door. However, adults and non-perceptive teens will not be able to register the Other Mother is there. If the teens talk to adults about her, their minds won't comprehend what they're saying and they'll think they've having an entirely separate conversation. If brought within the presence of the door it'll suddenly disappear.
Even if they do successfully communicate the threat (perhaps by using vague terms) the adults they're talking to will quickly lose track of what they're talking about and forget the conversation. This means that if they try to get tools or weapons from the adults to use, that they'll have a very short time of the adults comprehending them to do it.
Since the teens are the only ones that can perceive the Other Mother, even attacks on staff or Legionnaires won't cause them to investigate the cause. After the injured person is given medical care, everyone involved will forget they were ever hurt or think they were hurt by some other cause. If any adults volunteer to be kidnapped, the rest of the adults on the ship won't even register that they're missing and might forget they exist.
PLOT PARTS:
This plot will have quite a few parts due to its nature, but each will most likely be contained within 1 or 2 short threads, and depending on the characters' actions, they may split up into pairs or small groups at points.
PART 1
The teens will have a thread where they find the door and have a chance to try to get someone else to see it. During this part, they can potentially try to communicate the problem on the network, but adults will either just ignore the post and not perceive it's there, or be unable to register the problem even if their players do choose to have them engage. Only the teens that have signed up for the plot will be able to perceive the door and do anything about it.
PART 2
Exploring the Other Mother's realm. The teens will investigate the world on the other side of the door and meet the Other Mother. At first the realm will seem fun and colorful.
PART 3
The teens will find themselves in their own rooms after falling asleep in her realm and have to decide what to do.
PART 4
After traveling to her realm again, The Other Mother will demand they let her sew buttons to her eyes and join her. If they refuse they'll have to undergo a dangerous escape to get out of her realm, and have a chance to meet her past victims.
PART 5
After they escape to the real Legion World, the Other Mother will start harming adults around the ship and may even kidnap adult characters that the kids' care about (if any players volunteer). They will have to come up with a plan against her and arm themselves for the showdown.
PART 6
The final confrontation. Using whatever plan they decide, they'll have to face the Other Mother down. If they opt out of finding tech on Legion World, or using the Book of Magic, they'll have to beat her at a challenge or game. As they do this, her realm will turn more and more nightmarish and even the landscape will attack them.
After she is defeated, they've rescued any possible kidnapped adults, and their final escape, the adults on the crew will be able to perceive what they're talking about when they tell them what happened.
HOW NPCING WILL WORK:
The mods will npc the Other Mother and help npc exploration of the setting. That said, they will sometimes need help with npcing monsters and shifts in the setting. They'll keep the group informed on when they need players to do things like perhaps npc how their characters' "hab area" shifts and mutates.
PLOT START
Players may only sign up (1) character per player.
Characters in this plot must be age 16 or below, however, the rule can be bent to allow characters up to 18. However, we ask that players who volunteer any characters over 16 only do so if their character is not so competent that it would ruin the intended tone of the characters feeling powerless and overwhelmed. Having relatively competent adults would be detrimental to the intended atmosphere of the plot.
Due to OOC reasons, this plot has been pushed back slightly, to allow time for signups.
You may sign up until: 4/27/17 @ 8pm EST
Plot will go up: 4/27/17 after signups have closed.

HABITAT AREAS
Please fill out the following after you've signed up so the mods can use these areas in the plot. You don't have to go into intense detail. Just a basic sketch of the area is fine, and it can be a relatively small area (like the size of a garden).
BEFORE
Appearance: Please describe the starting appearance of your character's area. It can be an outdoor area under a fake sky (like in the Hab Deck), or an indoor area. Usually these areas are strange and nonsensical. For instance, your character might have a garden with singing flowers, some kind of strange indoor circus show, or might be a reflection of a place from home they miss that's been tricked out to be more fun. Get as creative as you like!
NPCs: Your character's area may potentially have npcs with buttons for eyes, that are lifesize doll-like versions of people they know. If you are willing to npc them, these characters may even speak, and are usually idealized versions of the real people. If you are not willing to npc them, they may simply be silent but seemingly friendly. You don't have to include these "other" versions, but if you'd like to, describe them here.
AFTER
Appearance: Once the Other Mother's realm starts to turn nightmarish, your character's area will degrade into something horrible. You can describe what it degrades into here. Usually this will be based on your character's psychology, and turn into something rooted in insecurities or fears.
NPCs: If you include "Other" versions of npcs, they will degrade as well, turning hideous and attacking the teens. So please describe how they will degrade in appearance here. Under rare circumstances, these "other" versions might be sympathetic to your character despite the Other Mother (such as if the person was based on someone exceptionally self-sacrificing or close to your character) so if you feel one of your npcs would aid the characters instead, note it here. You can also use this space to detail any non-sentient npc threats that might arise, like monsters
