Hello! I am a Tara. I keep an RP plurk at
monstress and would be delighted to add you all to it. I don't have a Discord yet because I'm lazy but I'm working on it. While I'm new, I don't bite; that's my character's job. She is a soul-sucking vampire with a monster arm, so biting is just what she does. Unlike other newbie Seras she is not much of a cheerful sort, but she is equally ridiculous.
Did you ever play in White Wolf's "One World by Night" LARPs as a younger sort? She's everyone's embarrassing first character that we all wish we could forget having rolled. Except she's well-written.
Meet Velvet Crowe! She is slightly a bit a walking spoiler for the couple-months-old console RPG Tales of Berseria being the main character and all (the first time a female character has ever been allowed to singlehandedly headline the Tales series! I'm very proud of her, enfant terrible that she is). She is going to be an odd fit for the Legion at best and a walking disaster for them to have to deal with at worst - I've got a bit of a ramble about what my plans are over on the handy Long Term Plot post, if you'd like to have a gander, although I should note that my current IC introductory plans (I should have a post up tonight postdating the currently-wrapping plotlines so as not to cause any IC scheduling conflicts for anyone who'll have any fun gawking, if all goes well) are going to completely deflate much of Velvet's ability to maintain any sort of air of goffik disdain (THE ONLY FLAVOR I CAN TASTE IS THE TASTE OF BLOOD - a literal thing, that my character literally says, in her game, in all seriousness) for a bit. I'm a good player who totally respects my characters' dignity at all times (this is self-evidently a lie).
(I also reflexively pepper everything I write with these absurd parenthetical asides and lots of italics for emphasis; this is self-evidently not a lie.)
Velvet tends to be pretty casual about cold-blooded murder (she's ... she's had a rough life, okay, and anyway she kind of eats people's souls) so I expect there'll be plenty of ideological friction on the come-up once Velvet's had time to settle in and I look forward to it. I'm a longtime fan of the Legion of Superheroes and this game's version of them in particular; one of the earliest large-scale RPs I participated in as a wayward youth was a Legion-based MUSH called The Brave and The Bold. They hold a special place in my heart, and I've wanted to figure out a good character who I'd have fun playing here at this game ever since I caught wind of this game's existence. It took a while till someone really grabbed me; naturally, my personal imp of the perverse means that the character who I most want to play in this game about my favorite superteam in the history of superhero comics is a character who might actually wind up being incapable of getting along with anything they believe in. I don't like to make it easy for myself to enjoy the things I like, I guess.
Nice to meet you all!

I'm already preparing my IC Hot Topic jokes.

I - god. I maintained a straight face for the entire length of an app about this thickheaded maroon's inability to dress herself in a way that doesn't look like she was aiming to look like Christian Death and landed on the Plasmatics instead and I'm gonna probably have to keep attempting this in IC tags, I can't manage it in an OOC comment, I must leave myself a space in which to cope. Who lets Mutsumi Inomata draw things.
(She is not going to have the slightest idea what a Hot Topic is and it's going to be great.)

boy do I have some CR for you

This is going to be the beginning of a bee-yootiful friendship. If you can convince my character saying the word won't make her spontaneously combust, that is. (You probably can't, but anything's possible in the future.)

Because man people here are uptight with their laws.

She's not in any hurry to go breaking any laws just yet. Never break a rule until you've thoroughly convinced yourself you can successfully ignore it long enough to get what you wanted first. That's the Velvet Crowe way.

What could possibly go wrong?

She knows your type.

I wouldn't sell Seras that short ... it takes real guts to eat a whole Frenchman, all lock stock and smoking barrels of him. (I make unfortunate cannibalism jokes to cope.)
