Upcoming Plots Discussion

UPCOMING PLOTS DISCUSSION

Hey there, Legionnaires!

Periodically, we like to check in with the playerbase to figure out what the upcoming plots are going to be and see if we need to rearrange the plots, add a new one to the calendar, or make any changes based on what the playerbase wants.

RECENT PLOTS

Recently, we had some heavy duty plots with "Silent Horizon" and "No Sanity Clause" which are leading to a major shift in the game. Plots from here on out may have still occasionally have some trap mechanics to get characters into the plot, but many of the upcoming plots will be more proactive.

UPCOMING PLOTS

The last state of the plot post lists some upcoming plots and their full descriptions here here. We would like to push "Out With the Old" back a little to allow for Karina's funeral and some other post-plot reactions.

JANUARY (AFTER CURRENT PLOTS)

Post-Plot Regroup: After the reveal of the Heralds and Chronoblivion to the world, the horrors of Silent Horizon, and the reveal of a security breach on Legion World, the team will have to regroup, recover, and discuss how to move forward.

Blue Rose's Funeral: Blue Rose will get a proper send-off with a funeral on Shanghalla, the memorial planet that is the burial place of Science Police officers killed in the line of duty, and superheroes from all over the galaxy.

Media Hijinks: IC Anon Meme, Legion Watch, some Legionnaire Legacies.

FEBRUARY

Out With the Old: Tricked into an ambush designed specifically to attract them, the Legionnaires native to the Legion's universe will wind up captured at the hands of the new Legion of Supervillains. The LOSV tells the entire galaxy that in one hour they plan on killing the Legionnaires live on the links, hoping to break the spirit of the entire UP by taking their heroes away from them.

What they're not counting on is the rookie Legionnaires, who are more than a match for the villains. Taking advantage of how the LOSV has underestimated them, the rookies must hunt down where the native Legionnaires are being kept prisoner and save them from a grisly fate, before it's too late.

The Books of Magic: Set the same time as "Out With the Old." A trip to Sorceror's World to ask for help uncovering the source of the Heralds' spying on Legion World, and a way to re-entomb the Spectre, leads the Legionnaires on a journey through the strange and wondrous magical side of the DC universe. The Legionnaires must find out how the Spectre was entombed in the first place, and seek out ancient magical entities and artifacts to find a way to trap the Spectre again, and cut off Chronoblivion's spy.

MARCH

Media Hijinks: IC Anon Meme, Legion Watch, some Legionnaire Legacies.

Through the Looking Glass: After being dispatched to deal with an attack by the Queen of Fables, the Legionnaires must go on a quest through the many fictional stories she's brought to life, to stop her before she takes over Earth and the rest of the galaxy.

The Spy Who Sprocked Us: Set during the same time as "Through the Looking Glass." After the Legion's Espionage Division is re-formed, several Legionnaire good at black ops work and hacking are sent to track down the UP Councilmember or members that have been betraying the UP and the Legion to Chronoblivion, to bring them to justice once and for all, and find out more about the Big C.

APRIL

To Have and To Hold: A recently added UP member world, Olum, has several sources of mystical energy that can be used to block Chronoblivion's spying on Legion World and attack the Herald doing it. However, these energy sources lie in a sacred area only accessible through a single access point -- and people are only allowed through after a marriage ritual. Asking special permission for access, or for the objects to be handed over by the Olumites has led to their refusal, leading to the Legion sending a team of holo-disguised Legionnaires to get fake-married. If the Legionnaires don't complete the sacred journey, the marriages are automatically nullified, anyway, allowing the fake couples to simply take the objects and leave.

Those Legionnaires that are romantically-inclined might enjoy the experience, as the rituals involved are meant to celebrate their love, challenge the strength of their relationship, and bring them closer together. Others may find the experience awkward, as they have to fake it until they make it with teammates they're not romantically entangled with.

The Other Mother: Set during "To Have and To Hold." A secret door appears on Legion World that only younger characters (mostly teens) can see. In it is a strange woman that tells the teen characters she's their Other Mother, and she lives in a fantastical place that makes all their dreams come true. However, she wants the kids to stay with her forever, and the more they say no, the more violent she becomes. She starts to attack the adult characters and staff through the exits from her lair that exist in the vents, and because they're psionically influenced to ignore and forget her, they're helpless against her attacks. It's up to the kids to go into the Other Mother's world and stop her once and for all, to save the adults and save themselves from a gruesome fate.

PLAYER PLOTS

As usual, player plots can be run during any of these other plots. If you'd like help making up a player plot up or would like to incorporate threads of the mod plot into things (such as characters finding traitors to the UP working for Chronoblivion) contact the mods and we'll help you out.

You can also adopt a plot idea off of the Plot In a Can post and run it.

FEEDBACK

Please answer these questions for the mods.

1) Do you want any of the upcoming plots changed or rearranged?
2) If these plots aren't to your liking, would you like something else? If you'd like something else, what kind of plot are you hoping for in terms of genre or focus? For instance: adventure, diplomacy, horror, some kind of disaster response, or anything else you can think of.

Please let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and feel free to ask any questions. When we're sure of a gameplan, we'll update the game calendar and do a new State of the Plot post.
