I learned how to crochet this week! Kind of!

GENERAL PURPOSE ACTIVITY WARNING: My job is way busier than usual at the moment and I'm not as fast or reliable as I'd like to be. There are tons of things I'd like to do, but my followthrough is really bad at the moment. I'm open to handwaving if you need/want to, maybe boomeranging anything time-sensitive when I can, but my day-to-day tag habit is shot. Some stuff might just end up rainchecked for January when I'm better able to participate.

Character Name: Grif
Character Fandom: Red vs Blue
Basic personality: Lazy, sarcastic, obnoxious slacker who cares very much about the aforementioned reputation and is struggling to balance that with his new desire to keep people he likes from dying. Feels kind of inadequate but doesn't want anyone to know that.
Has super speed powers because the universe has a sense of irony.
What has happened to them recently?: Got to spend time in a murder death arena, complained a lot, hoped to get bacon on vacation and was cruelly disappointed. Dave beat him in a race. He harrassed the anon meme some. Made good on his threat to bring pizza to movie night.

I've been lagging a little with Grif while I've been trying to focus on doing more things with the Chief, who's harder to integrate because he's quiet and not very social. Between that and general holiday season problems he's been kinda lowkey lately.

Upcoming plots, wanted CR, or other things to note about this character: I'm not currently gunning to do stuff in Rimborian Job due to my activity circumstances, fun though it sounds.

Grif is talkative, sociable, and likes to get under people's skin. He also loves to complain about any little thing. It's easy to strike up a conversation (especially an argument) with him, so bring me your fellow bullshitters or (on the opposite end of the scale) your people who need someone else to cajole them into talking. Also being punched for being a jackass is fine. (I want to do this but have been lagging on my end setting up reasons for it.)

His threads are like 99% shenanigans 1% surprise feelings sometimes, because he's kind of aware that he's a loser and is trying not to let on how much he actually does worry about things.

He's also good for being the irresponsible space older brother to younger characters, or enabling anyone to pursue bad ideas. Fun stupid stuff that works better on paper than in practice and shirking responsibility to go find comfortable places to hide and nap are his specialties. Anyone who wants to whip him into shape is welcome to try, and a couple of characters are taking a shot at it. He will kick and scream the whole way.

I feel like we ought to do something with Grif and Tadashi's weird little friendship. I'm not sure WHAT, but we should.

Character Name: The Master Chief (John-117)
Character Fandom: Halo
Basic personality: Looks like a cool military action movie hero, actually an awkward grown-up child soldier who hides his lack of normal life-experience by mostly avoiding people and not talking much. A bit of a smartass, but exceptionally deadpan. Doesn't know what to do with himself when not working. Full of amazing, horrible alien war stories if you can get to one that isn't classified and drag details out of him.
He's also really, really tall. Like really.
What has happened to them recently?: Also survived a murder death arena, during which he fought a xenomorph from Alien. Which, conveniently, Wash happened to show him beforehand. Got tangled up in freelancer drama just a little because he's Wash's horrible-things-confidant friend, broke up a fistfight between him and York after York showed up. Was very bad at doing vacation and probably didn't help much with 76's paranoia.

Cortana, his best AI friend who is dead at his canon point (as far as he knows), just arrived from 4 years in the past and he's dealing with that right now. He's very happy to see her again, and is the best person at hand for reining her in. His armor is also her favorite mobile platform and if the Chief knows a thing, there's a solid chance that Cortana will end up knowing the thing too unless it's obviously in confidance.

Upcoming plots, wanted CR, or other things to note about this character: He just went tearing across Legion World at full tilt in order to go find Cortana and narrowly avoided (by dint of having a ridiculously fast reaction time) collisions with random innocents on the way, you have carte blanche for characters to wtf at him about that.

Like with Grif, I don't really have any particular Rimborian Job plans for him because of my busy work schedule rn.

I'm working at collecting CR for him, but he's not super sociable so interactions with him tend toward the brief and awkward. He's good at being a no-nonsense adult (despite his knack for oneliners), missing cultural references, and getting very confused when people try to be casually friendly with him.

I'm totally up for doing posts with him if you need him to conveniently be around for a few to kick off threads with Cortana/handwaving around him as needed just talk to me.

I'm also hoping to do something with people picking up from Cortana that his name is John, and him being hideously awkward about it because he's very uncomfortable with other people calling him John.

For the record, on Legion World, Cortana won't necessarily need the Chief around for things. Even if she's living in the armor at the time, she can access the omnicomms or other computers remotely.

In the field, yeah, they're a package deal.
