Possible Day Ratio Change
Hey guys, the mods have a proposed idea to put past the game.
Currently the game's day ratio is 3:1. Now this usually doesn't affect plots, as one plot can cover only 1-2 days IC time, yet take two or three weeks or even a month OOC to complete. In Legion the day ratio is more for people to keep in mind when it comes to having a general sense of how long their characters have been in the game universe.
Over time, the mods have noticed an issue of players occasionally getting confused over how long their characters have been in game, and we've come to realized that doing it one one-thirds time makes it a little difficult to maintain a sense of how much IC time has passed. Halving how long you've oocly participated in a game is a lot quicker to do mentally, and also easier to have a sense of as you go.
So we're proposing that the day ratio of the game be switched to 2:1. This wouldn't really affect plots, as we all generally backthread those to infinity and assume they took place over a day or a few days. While we feel 1:1 is too fast 2:1 isn't too brisk as far as a sense of time goes, especially since Legion doesn't have many ongoing "daily" events that would be sped up or made more frequent that players would have to keep up with. It also means characters can handwave their CR developing faster, and their characters gaining competence in certain skills and in their education about the game universe faster.
So we'd like to know people's feelings on it and have made a poll.
If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to discuss the possibility with the mods (or other players), you can do so in the comments below.
The poll will be left open until 12/1/16 11:59 PM EST.

It doesn't happen often, but we'd like to not pressure any of those players into feeling like they're not having their character do those things as frequently as they would be doing.
The mods also sometimes want to do Legionnaire Legacies and newslinks after certain events, and highlight what happened in the events (which means an inability to prepare the whole thing before the plot/event) and in the case we can't get them up super quickly, 1:1 might cause issues where characters RP more time passing before the news stuff is up than we'd like. We don't want issues where we say "This was ICly up a few days after the plot" and a player already had their character doing stuff set a week later that would've been differently than if they'd seen the news first.
2:1 gives us a touch more buffer time, so, we've ruled out 1:1 as a solid no, due to the few regular things we have and how some of the media stuff is reactive.
I hope that makes sense? The news stuff is the one we're most worried about.
