WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO TREAD - Mod Plot [Player Plotting Post]

Here is the player plotting post for the plot!

WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO TREAD

MISSION LOG POST

There will be subthreads in the comments below where players can discuss things for the plot.

Multiple mods will be working on npcs tags for this plot, so please use the mod questions/contact section for any communications about your part of the plot rather than contacting an individual mod.

If any teams need transport to new places for any reason, they can handwave that Gates is handling any major teleport requests.

Tactically speaking, it'd probably be better if one of them was the bait that called her down into the open area, while the others took up ambushing positions. I feel like Gohan would offer to be the "bait", but would probably be best as an ambusher, given he has energy attacks at his disposal.

I like this idea! Though Kon would definitely try to steal the bait position, if he can, since his powers aren't very useful unless he's close enough to touch something, anyway. If Gohan wouldn't give it up, though, that's totally fine! Kon wouldn't fight him for it or anything, haha.

Gohan wouldn't mind someone else being the bait if it made more sense. He'd just offer himself at first because that's the sort of person he is. Alexander and Kon would probably make more sense as the bait, while Gohan and Tadashi would be the big cannons ready to wail on her. Since, you know, energy blasts and pyrokinetics.

Alexander would probably make the most enticing target for Stardust, since he's carrying around tons of souls. That being said, even though he can come back if she kills him, he won't be able to do much offensively, so having either Kon or Gohan nearby would be a good idea.

Oh!! That sounds perfect, he can totally take the lead, then! The others can back him up for sure. :d

Oh, maybe something like Alex to lure her in, with Kon as the muscle if it looks like she won't stand down peacefully. And if Kon starts having a hard time, that's when Tadashi and Gohan bring down the long range attacks.

So, I'm kinda thinking that Nick can temporarily make it seem like some terrifying black hole thing is blocking the fleet (although their sensors will be able to eventually pick up it's fake) and then Donnie or Judy can get them inside with one of their powers.

Then they can either sabotage things or try convincing the general to hold off or something. What would you guys like to do?

[personal profile] nerdninja 2016-05-21 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
I like sabotage, but of course I would, I play the ninja.

okay but seriously. As long as they can board and he can get his hands on a console, Donnie can do all kinds of stuff that'd slow them up. Turn off communications and sensors so they'd have to fly blind? Nudge the coordinates in their navigation to drop the entire fleet somewhere else? idk, there are a lot of ways that could go.

I like this plan. Judy could maybe help them break into stuff and fight their way to where they need to go so they can sabotage things? Nick could also disguise them as normal soldiers on the ship.

If Donnie messes with the navigation and comms he could definitely affect like the whole fleet since it'd seem like they were getting new orders.

I can start us off with the giant black hole that makes the fleet pause and then they can fly to the head ship.

I figure I'm going to let everyone else go first, and then have Hiccup use his metal manipulation powers to try and toss the Surfer into something.

I'm gonna go ahead and get tagged in there shortly, but I think Sam's approach is mostly going to be "blast from a distance and try to buy time until Stardust gets punked."

Tsubomi is going to go with trying to talk to the Surfer though keeping her distance (which means more yelling than talking but anywho), otherwise she'll help with trying to distract him too.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-23 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
Grif has only one thing and that one thing is being fast and hard to hit.

So I guess he's the main distraction.

He will be so thrilled I assure you.

Re: PART 5: HARROW (TEAM ZETA) - Jason Lee Scott, Videl, Parker

[personal profile] kingtyrantranger 2016-05-22 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
So, Harrow's a psychic parasite. It's somehow managed to hide itself from Galactus and has been hitching rides with the Big G for years, getting its rocks off by slaughtering people on the planets Galactus visits.

I'm thinking that the best way to flow with this would be to slap whoever's possessed upside the head with the psionic blockers the Legionnaires are equipped with to trap Harrow in that body and take care of him later. Keeping Harrow's host unconscious is too risky. He could still jump out. But if the blockers can keep him out, then they can also keep him in.

Another option, if we wanted to get really dramatic, would be to have one of the team allow Harrow to possess them in order to get the blockers on quick. Either via remote control or smacking them on. Jason would likely volunteer if it came down to that.

Either way, getting Harrow locked down with psi-dampeners, as long as they don't get close to his real body, might work. What do you guys think?

Hi I'm alive, sorry to leave you hanging.

I like the idea of using the psi-dampeners to keep Harrow locked inside its host. It's clever and less risky. Although Videl will probably want to keep the host unconscious as well.

I'm sure it's been covered somewhere before, but how does Harrow move from subject to subject? How fast can it jump subjects? Are we packing extra psi-blockers or is someone taking theirs off to put on the host?

[personal profile] kingtyrantranger 2016-05-25 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Harrow is a psychic entity. It seems to move from body to body via psychic connections. Touch, eye locks, etc., don't seem to be required. It basically goes until one body can't fight anymore, then moves to another. It can, however, hover (invisibly) without possessing anyone. The possession time takes place nearly instantly, unless someone has psi-shields to resist it.

Possessing someone has a detrimental effect on their health. Everyone that Harrow possessed in the comic died. It's unclear if the possession killed them or if it could only possess dead bodies, but I'd theorize the former.

As it gets closer to its real body, its psychic power increases. Its range is in the thousands of miles, but it doesn't cover all that at once. Wherever its essence is, it apparently sticks around that locality. So it's not going to escape by possessing someone halfway across the world. More than likely whoever's within a few dozen feet.

I'm honestly not sure if they'd be given psi-blockers as part of their loadout. I'll ask Tipple when I see her next.

EDIT: She said yes, they do have spares.

Should we just stop and ask here whenever we're searching the environment for something and need to know if we found stuff? o/
